Toshiba has been producing quality table type boring mills for many decades. Endusers, have enjoyed the quality and ease of use of Toshiba BTD style boring mills originally equipped with TOSNUC 777 CNC controls, better know as Triple 7 and Triple 7.2 . Unfortunately. the time has come when these CNC controls are no longer supported, thus locating replacement parts is almost impossible. Even the OEM has no stock, and the only alternative is to send the suspect part back to the factory to try and repair. This process is expensive and time consuming.

TEAM MACHINE TOOLS HAS A SOLUTION

Team Machine Tools, through direct feedback from BTD endusers and our vast knowledge of BTD machines, recognized the need for an engineered retrofit package to replace the aging systems on these machines. Not only are the Tosnuc controls obsolete, the Sony Magnascales used by Toshiba have been unsupported for years. Damaged scales were often turned off, as replacements or repair were impossible to find. Team Machine Tools designed a direct replacement package with three main objectives observed: QUALITY-PRICE-TIME.

QUALITY

Our primary CNC supplier is FANUC. We selected Fanuc for its world recognition, quality and global support network. We also selected FAGOR distance coded scales for the XYZ axes.

PRICE

Toshiba BTD boring mills were all manufactured the same. Our CNC packages are engineered for a precise integration that can control the overall price.

TIME

Our engineered CNC packages are designed so the “chip to chip” time can be as little as 2 weeks.

BASIC PACKAGE PRICE -from $149,999.00 USD

• FANUC OiMD CNC system including XYZWB servo motors with absolute encoders, MPG unit with RAPID/FEED capability. pre-loaded with system parameters and PLC program
• Operation display panel to replace the existing unit
• FAGOR distance coded linear scales for XYZ axes
• Pre-assembled wiring harnesses within the electrical panel
• All components required to install the scales
• Assembly directions
• The existing spindle motor and drive are reused. The manufacturer of the spindle drives still supports their products.

OPTIONS

Our basic package has been engineered to replace all of the critical components on your boring mill. BTD machines were offered with many options which we can accommodate if it is needed. They may include RIGID TAPPING, SPINDLE PROBE.

We recognize that many endusers are capable of installing and commissioning the machine themselves. We engineered the package so it can be installed this way. We also offer complete installation and commissioning or just commissioning.
